  ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Pastoral Ministry

Rev. Jason Harms, Pastor:

How would you describe what you do in your ministry area at Asbury?

My focus and passion for ministry is on helping create an environment as the Body of Christ where the needs of this world are met by the truth and love of Christ.  I’m able to be a part of that at Asbury through relevant contemporary worship, meaningful small groups, and passionate service to others.

I also see myself as a ministry coach, encouraging and helping church members and staff to become better equipped in their own call to ministry.

Family:

My wife, Wendy, and I have two beautiful children, Emily and James.

What are some hobbies or interests you have outside of what you do at Asbury?

Anything I get to do with my family is fun! I enjoy jogging, computers, and following MSU sports (go Dawgs!) when I have the time. And I will rarely turn down an invite to catch a movie.

What are some favorite music/books/movies you like?

My favorite author is C.S. Lewis, though I’ve always been a Sherlock Holmes fan. Favorite music? Third Day, Jack Johnson, & The Eagles. Movies? Casablanca, The Natural, Finding Nemo.

Worship Ministry

Kelly Holder, Worship Leader:

How would you describe what you do in your ministry area at Asbury?

I have the incredible honor of participating in planning and implementing corporate worship experiences at Asbury.  I work specifically in the area of worship arts, collaborating with the worship planning team to create ways in which our congregation may experience God through music, drama, dance and other artistic expressions.  I then work to execute these plans with our faithful volunteers who have answered God's call to lead in worship through the arts.  It is my sincere prayer that the corporate worship experiences at Asbury will encourage and challenge God's people to worship Him individually every moment of every day.

Family:

I am married to the wonderful Will Holder.  We have one child - a Chinese pug named Buster.
